Sunday 20 March:
Free Introductory Play Day to the East Cornwall Youth String Orchestra
Are you a young musician playing violin, viola, cello or double bass, playing at approximately grade 4 to grade 8 and beyond?
The new East Cornwall Youth String Orchestra is for YOU!
ECYSO is a lively, fun, informative and ambitious string orchestra where young people share their enjoyment of string playing, learn a wide range of music from different styles and ages and experience the buzz of making music together.
Following the introductory play day, four or five half day weekend rehearsals take place each term at venues across East Cornwall, attracting young players from the north to south coasts and both sides of the Tamar.
ECYSO is directed by violinist and viola player Tim Boulton, who calls on three decades of international chamber music and orchestral experience to inspire and uplift young musicians. This new string orchestra joins existing groups Penzance Youth String Orchestra and Truro Youth String Orchestra who have well established local and national reputations for musical excellence and innovation. Together the three groups provide top quality learning experiences for young string players across Cornwall and beyond.
Doors 2.00, start time 2.30 – 5.30pm
