Saturday 23 July: Performance, Masterclass and Workshop for guitarists and drummers with Will McNicol and Luke Selby
Since their formation as a duo in 2013, multi award-winning acoustic guitarist Will McNicol and drummer Luke Selby have gained rave reviews for their live performances. As a tutor, Will has worked alongside some of the finest guitar educators in workshop environments, including the world-renowned acoustic guitarist Antonio Forcione.
Doors open 2.30pm, Start time 3.00pm, End time Approx 5.00pm
This two hour session with Will and Luke consists of:
• A 20 minute performance of a selection of pieces taken from a variety of styles – Brazilian Samba through to North American Blues, West African and Celtic Folk.
• A 45 minute in-depth demonstration and explanation of techniques and styles on both drums and guitar.
• A 45 minute workshop where guitar and drum students will be taught a simple selection of techniques and rhythms which can be incorporated into World Music styles (with printouts provided).
• A 10 minute Q&A when students can ask further questions about the sessions or anything else they are interested in.
All levels welcome. Could drummers bring practice pads with stands and sticks if they have them.
